James M. Wiley died on the 9th, in the Greensburg, Decatur County, jail. He had been put in for shooting at William Bradburn with intent to kill him in his saloon at Milford. Bradburn was not serioulsy hurt as it turned out. Wiles had been in the State Prison for several years for a murder he committed at Milford several years ago. He was, for that offense, sent to the State Prison for life, and was pardoned out. On his pardon, he took up his previous bad haits, drank a good deal of liquor, and no doubt was largley under its influence at the time of the recent shooting. On being put in jail, his whisky was stopped, and for that cause, doubtless, his death is to be attributed. He died of delirium tremens.
