AGED AND WEALTHY MAN IS WEDDED TO A POOR GIRL.

Former Lieut. Gov. Cumback of Indiana Married Miss Wachstatter - Daughter and Son Reported to Oppose Match.

Anderson, Ind., July 9 - [Special.] - William Cumback of Greensburg, former Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, and Miss Laura Wachstatter were married today at the Villiage of Lapel, ten miles west of this city. The wedding was the culmination of an unusual romance.

The bride formerly was a teacher in the Soldiers and Sailors' Orphans" Home at Knightstown, Ind. She is a poor girl financially and lame. Her mother is a nurse.

The wedding was a quiet affair. Mr. Cumback and his bride came to this city this afternoon and then proceeded to the Cumback homestead at Greensburg, Ind. Next week they will go to New York and in the fall will go to California.

Mr. Cumback is 72 years of age and wealthy. His daughter, Mrs. J. W. Lovett, and his son, Will Cumback Jr., are prominent in society in this city and at Indianapolis. It is reported that Mr. Cumback's relatives opposed the marriare because of his age.
