They really don't like fiddlers - check out this article.

The Chicago Tribune

30 Jun 1889 Page 4

The Corresponding Secretary of the Fiddlers' Association of Decatur County, Indiana, writes to THE TRIBUNE for the purpose of invoking the considerate judgment of mankind on the fiddling festival to be given by that association at Greensburg in August. He claims this is the first organization of fiddlers, pure and simple, ever formed, and that, as such, it is entitled to a chance to prove its right to existence. The Corresponding Secretary informs us also that Gov. Taylor of Tennessee, "who can play on the fiddle with either hand," is expected to preside at the coming festival. THE TRIBUNE cheerfully assists in warning the people of Indiana of the approaching event.
