DEATH COMES TO MRS. HENRY GENTRY
Funeral services for well known resident held Monday afternoon – Ill for months
Mrs. Henry J Gentry, one of the oldest residents and most highly esteemed citizens of clay township residing on the Columbus pike five miles west of town died Saturday afternoon at five o’clock and was buried Monday in South Park Cemetery following the funeral services conducted at the hour by Rev. W. C. Marshall. The funeral was private.
The deceased was a daughter of Pleasant Martin, one of the pioneer settlers of Mechanicsburg, where she was born April 27, 1842. She was married to Henry J Gentry, son of Bateman Gentry of four miles west of Greensburg, more than fifty years ago. Mr. Gentry died May 14th last. Mrs. Gentry has been ill since June 1917, and suffered much but bore her suffering with a remarkable patience. She was a member of the Baptist church at Liberty and a devoted Christian wife and mother.
The son, William and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Johnson and Mrs. Albert Brune survive. All reside in this country.
