Died - On Sunday, July 21st, 1872, at 8 o'clock P.M. Miss Zettie Chrity (sic), daughter of C.G. and M. M. Christy, aged 18 years 6 months and 10 days.
The funeral services were held at the Baptist church, and the discourse delivered by Rev. L. D. Robinson, under whose ministry she unites with the church at the age of 14 years. The sermon was an appropriate and touching one. The fairest flower of a large family has fallen, and the bereavement is the more sad because of its untimeliness. At the beginning of 1872 shw was in the vigor of youthful health and bright prospects were before her, but alas, how uncertain is life. In March last she fell, sustaining an injury which at the time was only regarded as slight and temporary, but she never recovered from its effects, and gradually this life receeded and she passed from among us.

This 22 line obituary of Zettie Christy, daughter of C.G. and M.M. Christy who died July 21, 1872 at 18 years was found in a scrapbook with Coy and Woodward material. This scrapbook was probably made by one of the sisters, Maria Coy or Sarah Candas Coy Woodward in Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana. No other information is available. It was probably saved since it was someone that the Coys knew. There is no indication that Zettie was related to the Coys. It is being dismantled in 2010 by Wayne Woodward, 1752 Waycona Drive, JACKSON MS 39204-3527, 601-373-8644,
